Changing plans

Suddenly, the security conditions in Lebanon deteriorated completely, and there was no way to stay anymore. So, I decided to take my family and travel to Armenia. There, Joseph and April decided to join us so they could be by our side, and we all planned to try to go to America.

The movie we were planning to shoot had to be put on hold because even the children had to flee and hide with their families. I hadn’t seen Joseph and April for a year and a half. I was so worried and anxious, but as soon as I saw them, I felt relieved and safe.

Our children only knew each other through phone calls, so the most beautiful thing that happened was seeing them finally meet in person. For a moment, I forgot all the pain and struggles as I reunited with Joseph and April.

Shortly after, we applied for a tourism U.S. visa. They gave us an appointment, but it was scheduled for a year later; which was very disappointing. Two months later, the war in Lebanon calmed down, so my family and I decided to return after Joseph and April had already left.

Before I flew back, I asked questioneers kids to write a short story, and next Tuesday, after I arrive in Lebanon in five days, we will have a class.
